My take on current World of Warcraft: The War Within

I want to start off by clearing the air.  Yes, I've said EverQuest is > World of Warcraft... I think I will always believe that, and always believe in the potential for that game.

That game holds a special place in my heart with friendships throughout the years, experiences had with raids and groups of folks, learning how to play my class in raid settings... With punishing mechanics that were not matched anywhere, in my opinion

I however, do wish to leave a personal viewpoint of how I think World of Warcraft is currently doing in comparrison.

The fact is, WoW still has a decent playerbase it seems.  It's definitely not what it once was, the titan that literally tore some of my good friends away from EverQuest.  However, the game still has it's pros.  The main one being accessibility to end game content.  You don't need a dedicated group of people to do end game content.  You can log in, complete almost all content as a casual player, even raids (if you don't care about gear quality and strength, and just want to see the raids and experience them once).

WoW is a good game.  It has a lot going on, more than it did before when it was the #1 rated MMO out there.  I think at one point they hit 10million subscriptions? They had to have done something right.

For a solo player as I consider myself for the most part, I can complete delves, and have completed all tier delves, which reward ilvl 694 from the vault from the weekly resets (which I'm currently waiting on finishing while writing this.) Which is apparently decent.  I imagine as a casual player Mythic+ dungeons aren't nearly as difficult as I tell myself they are, but I don't want to be playing with people who just talk crap to people who are new and learning how to play efficiently.  I'm perfectly fine with follower dungeons for a nice fun dungeon crawl, no upgrades, but some good and potentially gathering resources that can be sold on the auction house.

The game seems to be very centered around solo play for a lot of folks, too for that reason.  They even have story mode raids, which I think is kinda silly, but for some people they may enjoy it, such as I enjoy follower dungeons when I just wanna grind out some resources, or just run through a dungeon for fun.

Now, I can't talk on normal mode raids, heroic raids or mythic raids as I haven't made it that far, and I'm not sure 100% if I ever will, personally.

What I have to say about the game is it's approachable, even for casual players, and it is very engaging, especially with the story telling and cinematics throughout.

All in all, it's a good experience playing, even casually, even solo.
