What I Think Cannabis Legalization (Federally) Should Look Like

I have a landscape for what I would like marijuana legalization to look like in a perfect world, where dreams come true, and pigs can fly.

My idea is, amount you possess, the amount you grow on your own property (so long as children are safe and kept away from accessing the plant in any form or factor.)  What type you consume, what strength you consume, how often you consume, what strain you consume should not be dictated by any person or entity.

I believe there should be no limits on licensing to open a business to provide a fair and free market to any company who may want to do business in any state that chooses to allow access to the plant (I'm sorry, any state that doesn't is missing out on tax revenue, and raising taxes elsewhere, like property taxes, income taxes, sales taxes etc.)  I do not think due to states rights federal legalization should require access in every single state.  State's should be able to decide upon that.  However, I do believe that they should not be able to ban cannabis within ones place of living (in any state whether access via dispensaries is allowed, or be able to enter a residence based upon the "scent of marijuana".)

Persons should be free to travel to a state that has it legalized, pay that state's taxes, and return to their own home without fear of arrest for doing so.

So in short, federal legalization should have it legal at the federal level point blank.  States can choose whether they take in tax revenue or not from sales, but they should not prevent possession of the plant if obtained from a legal source elsewhere due to the states unwillingness to lowertaxes in other areas with a simple solution of allowing access to a plant that people will smoke whether the state government allows them to or not.

In a real perfect world, it's grown like a plant, transported like a plant and kept away from children.  Make it homegrown in the USA and enjoy it.

As always, consult with a doctor before consuming cannabis.
